Coatesville Cemeteries

Coatesville Cemetery

Location: The cemetery is on State Road 75 just south of Coatesville. It is at the 5600 Block of South State Road 75 and is very visible from the road.

The Coatesville Cemetery is separated into two sections. The North section features many historic headstones, some so worn that their inscriptions are nearly unreadable. In contrast, the Southern section is newer and has benefited from generous donations, ensuring its ongoing maintenance and care. This division highlights our rich history while paying tribute to those laid to rest here.

West Branch Friends Cemetery

Location: East on Hathaway Drive across from the bank. Follow Hathaway Drive east from US-75. Cemetery is not visible from the road.

Welcome to the West Branch Friends Cemetery, founded in 1885. Located just east of State Road 75 in the charming area of Coatesville, this small historic cemetery is cared for by devoted local residents. Although it is no longer an active burial site, it serves as a symbol of the community's rich history.

It's important to note that Coatesville also features a few family burial sites from earlier times that are not officially recognized as cemeteries. Additionally, nearby locations such as the New Winchester Cemetery, Stilesville Cemetery, and Amo Cemetery are currently in use. Each of these sites tells the stories of individuals who once lived in the area, contributing to the rich history of Coatesville and Hendricks County.
