PARTICIPANT VOTING:

Our show is a participant voting show. We are well aware of the controversies of a participant voting show and a judged show. It is very hard to get great judges for a car show. At best, most are volunteers and as we've always said, if you get a hundred judges, you will get a hundred different results. As such, we made the decision to keep ours a participant voting show.

Just deciding which type of show to go with was not good enough for us. If we are doing a participant voting show, we needed to make it as fair as possible and do our best to remove the issues that typically occur with such a show. As a result, we have developed our own unique back-end verification process with checks and balances to ensure that we have the fairest participant voting process anywhere. Granted, it won't catch everything, but it will eliminate a majority of the issues that surrounds a participant voting show. Our process involves the following:

We do these above checks because we catch this every year, folks voting on their own car, only voting for club member cars, even voting for their own car or a friends car multiple times on their voting card.

While not everyone may not agree with our process, we believe most will. Whether you come to the show on your own or as part of a club, we believe this process creates an even playing field for all attendees. If everyone played fair, we wouldn't have to do this. We had no less than 25 (or 10%) of the voting cards turned in last year that matched the above scenarios and we addressed them.

1) You are not allowed to vote for your own vehicle. Each ballot is numbered with your entry number. If your entry number appears on your ballot, that vote will be removed and will not be counted. The remaining votes on your ballot will be counted.

2) You can't fool us. We do check for duplicates. Last year several voting cards had the same entry number on their voting card two or three times with one card having the same entry number four times. In fact, we even had voting cards turned in from the previous year's show, that's why we color code the voting cards each year.

3) We don't encourage clubs members to vote for their clubs cars, but we also don't want to dictate who you can and can't vote for, especially if your club has some great cars. As long as we don't see a majority of club members voting for club cars, we will let the votes go through (and we will check). However, if we find that a large number of club cars were voted on by the majority of the club members resulting in many or most winning an award, we will address that issue.

Over the past three years, an average of 25% to 30% of the show attendees receive an award. Therefore, if we find that the above situation has occurred, that club will not receive an award or will be capped to no more than 25% of the members receiving an award depending on the situation which will be at the show coordinators discretion. Here are some examples we find every year:

Scenario #1: If we have a club of 12 members show up for the show and all 12 members (or a majority of members) voted for their clubs cars, that shows us there was intent by that club to try and sweep awards for that club.
Result: That club will be disqualified from receiving an award.

Scenario #2: We are also well aware of the buddy system meaning that clubs will pick certain members of their club to win an award and all members will vote for that car or cars.
Result: If we see a voting card where a club has the same member(s) car voted on, those votes will not be counted. All other votes will be counted unless will see some other kind of discrepancy.

Scenario #3: Similar to Scenario #1, if we see a large percentage of club members voting for club cars, we will limit the awards.
Result: In this scenario, we will cap the number of members that can win an award to 25%. For example, we have a club of 12 cars will a very high rate of members voting for their club cars, no more that 3 members (25%) will win an award.
