FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - GENERAL INFORMATION

QUESTION:    

When is the show?


ANSWER:    

It is always the third Saturday of July. Upcoming show dates are as follows:

•    2026: July 18th

•    2027: July 17th

•    2028: July 15th

QUESTION: 

Is the show rain or shine? If not, when is your rain date?


ANSWER:    

The show is not rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather based on weather predictions leading up to the event, we reserve the right to postpone the show. Our rain date is always the following Saturday of the original scheduled show date. Updates on weather and a planned move to our rain date will be posted to our Facebook page (@coatesvilleindy).

QUESTION: 

What is the fee to enter?


ANSWER:     

Register by July 1st and the fee is $20.00.  Fee is $25.00 the day of the show.

QUESTION:    

What time is show check-in and/or registration on show day?


ANSWER:    

Official check-in and registration begins at 7:00am and ends at 9:30am. Please do not arrive prior to 7:00am as access to the streets will not open until 7:00am and we cannot block the streets. If you arrive early, please stage at the First National Bank and proceed to the event at 7:00am.

QUESTION:    

What do I do if I need to leave the show before the end?


ANSWER:    

It’s best to alert our parking personnel at the time you park so they can park you in a convenient spot for an early exit, so you are not boxed in. It is also good to alert one of our officers on the street about 15 minutes prior to your departure so they can assist you at the time of your departure.

QUESTION:    

Can I save a space for a friend who will be arriving in a little while?


ANSWER:    

No, due to the volume of vehicles arriving for the show, we cannot allow folks hold spots for other people. Please be understanding about this. If you wish to park together, please arrive together.

QUESTION:    

How big will my vehicle space be?


ANSWER:    

Registered vehicles get approximately a 10 ft x 20 ft space to park their vehicle.

QUESTION: 

When will I receive participant instructions for the show?


ANSWER:    

We will email out all information and instructions for the show to all that preregistered within two weeks prior to the show. This will go only to those that we have valid email addresses for. If you did not provide an email or an incorrect email address, you may not receive this communication.

QUESTION:    

Can I purchase additional event t-shirts?


ANSWER:    Yes, if you would like to purchase more you can do that. You must let us know and pay for them prior to April 1st. Each shirt is $20.00. You will need to let us know the quantity and sizes and we will invoice you through Paypal. As long as we receive payment prior to April 1st for the extra shirts, the order will be placed. If not paid by this date ,the order will not be placed. 


Also note that we will have a very limited supply of shirts available for sale at the Information Booth on a first-come, first-served basis. We will only have 20-24 shirts mostly in XL with a handful of other sizes. We may also have somne of last years shirts available for a discounted price.        _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________


QUESTION:    

Why didn’t I receive a goody bag?


ANSWER:    

Goody bags are only available to those that pre-register for the show. Those that register the day of the show will receive a bag with the essentials provided, but it will not be a full fledged goody bag.

QUESTION:    

What am I allowed to bring to the event?


ANSWER:    

The following are allowed:

•   Chairs

•   Coolers

•   Sunscreen

•   Umbrellas

•   Wheel Chocks

•   Drinks/Snacks

•   Pets on a Leash

•   Canopy


NOTE: 

Canopies are allowed, but only if no wind is present. If any wind is present at all, ayou are not allowed to erect a canopy. If no wind is present, participant is free to erect a canopy or covering as long as they have stakes or weights of some kind for the legs of the structure. You cannot use a vehicle space to erect a canopy. If erecting a canopy, there must be space behind your vehicle or you must elect to park in the library grass.

QUESTION:    

What items are not allowed at the event?


ANSWER: The following are not allowed:

•   No Firearms

•   Grills/grilling

•   Alcohol

•   Unsafe Driving

•   Any kind of open flame

•   Burnouts (coming or leaving the event)


NOTE: 

Any alcohol, open container, or any other illegal substance is strongly prohibitied. If caught with any alcohol or illegal substance, you will be permanently banned from the show.


No burnouts coming into the show, at the show, or leaving the show. This is deemed as reckless endangerment given the volume of cars we have in town. Any one caught will be cited as such and can deal with it in a court of law. It will not be tolerated. We may not catch you at the show, but there are cameras and license plate readers all over town, so you can expect to receive one via certified mail.

QUESTION: 

I see attendees with name tags and lanyards. How do I get one?


ANSWER:    

If you register and prepay for the show next prior to July 1st (approx 3 weeks prior to the show), you will receive a name tag. These items are part of our VIP Package for those that register and prepay only.

QUESTION:    

It looks like it will be hot the day of the show. Will there be shade?


ANSWER:    

There are some shady areas around the event, but we cannot guarantee there will be shade where you are parked. You will be able to find shade plus our air-conditioned community building will be open as a cool down area. While we don’t encourage groups to congregate in a confined space, we will have limited seating and tables spread out at a safe distance in this area.

QUESTION:   

Where are your restrooms located at?


ANSWER:    

We have air conditioned restrooms in the Community Building and the Library. The trail restrooms will also be open which are east of the Liquor Store (non-air conditioned), plus the restaurant will have restrooms for their patrons

QUESTION:    

Will there be any live entertainment at the event?


ANSWER:    

No, we have purchased our own sound system allowing more spaces to park.

QUESTION:    

If I am not feeling well at the event, are there services I can utilize?


ANSWER:    

Yes, we will have some firefighters and EMTs roaming the event that can be summoned to assist you if needed.

QUESTION:    

Will you have any security at your event?


ANSWER:    

Yes, we will have police officers working the event.

QUESTION:    

Are golf carts allowed at your event?


ANSWER:    

Yes, golf carts are allowed, but not advisable unless you have an inability to easily move about the event. Any person operating a golf cart must be a licensed driver and must operate the golf cart in a safe manner giving the right of way to police and fire vehicles (including the police golf cart) as well as all pedestrians. Golf carts must remain in the show area and must not drive in close proximity of the show cars.


NOTE: Skateboards, roller skates, bicycles, scooters, and anything else similar is prohibited from being in the event show area. Regardless if it is foot powered, electric, or gas, all are restricted from entering the show area.

QUESTION:    

Do you have any type of participant games at your event?


ANSWER:    

Yes, every year we have games. Once those games are known for the upcoming show, usually after the first of the year, those details will be posted on our activities page.

QUESTION:    

Am I allowed to start my vehicle at the show?


ANSWER:    

No, participants are not allowed to start their vehicles during the show once they have been parked, unless departing early from the show. When departing the show, you are responsible for ensuring your area is clean prior to departing the show.

QUESTION:    

Do you have any policy regarding conduct at the show?


ANSWER:    

Yes. We have Unsportsmanlike Conduct Regulations against excessive noise (loud music), reckless behavior, profanity, illicit material, or any disruptive behavior which will be enforced resulting in your removal from the show. This includes any rude or aggressive treatment towards any show volunteer, sponsor, or any other show participant or visitor.


Relating to the above, if any action results in a physical altercation, you will be permanently banned from the show and could face potential legal charges and/or arrest.

QUESTION:    

Can I advertise my car as "For Sale" at the show?


ANSWER:    

Yes, you can list your car for sale at the show, but you are not allowed to display any visible "For Sale" signs on your windows or windshield. Any "For Sale" sign can be placed on the seats inside the vehicle.
